New from Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara $24 USD

I took advantage of the first to try VIB Rogue exclusive of Benefit Roller Lash Mascara.  Not much to say but look at the pictures.  The formula is not as wet as the "They're Real" mascara.  But the length it gives is so out there which is good.  It does last and even after rubbing my eyes I do not experience any fall out or racoon eyes, another plus!!

But personally I am more into volume I need it, I want it and this just didn't deliver in that.  I still want to put on falsies.  But I think this will be great for my friend Annette she already has beautiful full lashes but they don't curl and who doesn't want atleast longer lashes.

From the Benefit Cosmetics website
It’s a roller for lashes! The eye-opening Hook ‘n’ Roll™ brush grabs, separates, lifts and curls…while the instant curve-setting formula holds for 12 hours.

I would pick up the full size  but I would still pair it up with my favorite drugstore volumizing mascara.  But this is available at Sephora and Ulta yet as of today not on the Benefit Cosmetics website until the 27th.

Palette Series: Urban Decay Naked on The Run

Palette Series: Urban Decay Naked on The Run ($54 USD)

I just got this in the mail and I had to write on it before everyone else did.  But it has been a while but here is another addition to my palette series.  This one is from Urban Decay.  Their Naked line has made millions with their Naked palettes.  Also we are all still debating whether to venture out and try their other naked products.
So it's genius to find everything in one "travel friendly" pack.

Taken from Sephora:
A limited-edition, all-in-one travel palette loaded with exclusive eye shadows, blush, bronzer, lip gloss, and mascara—everything needed for a complete Naked makeup look.
The looks you can create are very nuetral and more on the rose gold side.  Though it claims to have brand new shades.  it looks very similar to the Naked palette 3.

A. Perversion Mascara - slimmer deluxe version (.13oz) [a full size is .4oz in case your wondering]
B. 24/7 Glide on Pencil in black or zero (deluxe size)
C. Naked Ultra Nourishing Lip Gloss in Sesso (Full Size, Woo Hoo!)
D. Five Eye shadows in Dive (metallic rose/gold micro-shimmer), Fix (soft taupe matte), Resist (medium metallic taupe), Dare (medium brown matte), Stun (metallic bronze/light gold micro-shimmer)

E. Bronzer ( a bit orangey for me)
F. Blush (very bright and pigmented, use a careful hand)
G. Highlight

Percentage of FACE it covers: 70%
Face (Foundation)
Blush - Yes
Eyeshadows(3) - Yes
Concealer
Bronzer/ Contour - Yes
Eyeliner - Yes
Setting powder
Highligter - Yes
Mascara - Yes
Lipstick/Lipgloss - Yes

Travel Friendly? Yes
Can you double up on products? Yes
Does it include application tools? No
Mirror? - Yes
Do you need additional application tools? Yes
Factors of uniqueness:
All in one feature of the naked products
Still need to bring: Face products

You can double up on the products use  "Dare" as a eyebrow powder  and the highlight can be mixed with the shadows for a new look.

The packaging is very similar to the Vice palettes, a bit of a cheap plastic that could split and shatter if dropped.  Though it's called travel friendly, my reccommendation is still be very careful when travel with it.
It would have been nice to include at least one double ended eyeshadow brush with it but I think they wanted to get out the products more.  And you do get alot of product for the same price of a regular naked pallete.  A full size of the Naked Nourishing Lip gloss will already cost you 20 dollars. the eye shadows alone are already (.4oz) compared to .03oz of the VICE and .05oz of the naked pallete 3.

If you are into the rose gold brown nuetrals of Urban Decay, you will love this.  But as a makeup lover I am sure I cannot just travel with this palette without lugging around a few more products to make THIS palette work for me. Palette available on Urban Decay website, Sephora and Ulta.  But I think this might be put in the back of my closet or returned.

Make Up For Ever Fifty Shades of Grey Makeup

Who read the books?  I did.  Who is going to see the movie?  I will.  Who wants the makeup? . . . I DO I DO.  That's right my blogreaties you can now paint your face a subtle pink, as if Christian Gray himself is spanking that pink on your backside.

Make Up For Ever is now launching a Fifty Shades of Grey Collection.  All pictures courtesy  of Make Up For Ever.  I think these are perfect colors that fit the Anastasia Steele character, very neutral and soft.

“Give In to Me” — features a four-eye-shadow palette, eyeliner, lipstick and lip gloss.( pictured left) Tease Me” lip trios which include a lip liner and two lip glosses (pictured right), retailing for $32 each

"Desire Me" Blush trio w/ velvet pouch ($49 USD)

Though I will probably buy it because I love me the neutrals I will buy it for the namesake.  BUT Sign me up for the Christian Grey line!  I am picturing, cool colors of course some greys and blues. Oh and instead of a velvet pouch I would love a faux silk pouch similar to Christian Grey's tie!  Argh, can you imagine!  But this will strictly be at Sephora available in December.  Ah nothing says happy holidays like thoughts of a red room.  Fifty Shades of Grey the movie will tease us for Valentines Day 2015.

Sephora Divergent Multi-Piece Collector's Kit

Divergent,  another book turned movie, most likely turning into another trilogy for us consumers to spend three times more money!  So  Ta Da!  Introducing Sephora's Divergent Multi-piece collector's makeup kit!

To me it's all about timing.  Everyone knows the popularity of the Hunger Game and I am thinking that studios want to continue the hype.  Cover Girl started a bit late with their release of the Capitol Beauty Studio Collection.  12 different looks based on the 12 districts of the Hunger Games.  http://www.covergirl.com/catching-fire Well Duh!  Covergirl created new colors of nail polishes, eyeliners and eyshadows to market the Hunger Games Fans.

Sephora is starting early with Divergent.

What it does: Divergent—what makes you different makes you dangerous. This enormous multi-piece kit allows you to be brave, selfless, intelligent, honest, and kind all at once. Each of the three Eye Shadow Palettes contains four coordinating High Pigment Eye Shadows plus one High Gloss Transforming Eye Shadow to draw immediate attention to the eyes. The High Gloss Transforming Eye Shadows impart a shimmery, diamond-like reflection that is transparent when applied dry, and translucent when applied wet. Mix and match the shades to achieve a unique look every time. The kit also includes a cheek palette with two Long-Wear Blushes, a Shimmering Bronzer, and a Radiant Glow Illuminator. Four High Shine Lip Glosses round out each faction’s look. Use the double-ended eye and cheek brush and the included Get-the-look cards to choose and proclaim your faction.

This Set Contains: (http://www.sephora.com/divergent)
- 12 x 0.059 oz High Pigment Eye Shadows in Burnt Mahogany, Radiant Initiation, Peaceful Shimmer, Humble Sheen, Dauntless Ink, Abnegation Stone, Erudite Sapphire, Serene Vanilla, Bold Espresso, Intrepid Moss, Golden Honesty, Altruistic Almond

The movie comes out March 21st and is currently released as a VIB Rouge exclusive purchase.  Will I get it?  Probably Not.  Though I LOVE the selection of neutral colors and Sephora brand has really great high quality pigmented products.  It retails for $59.50USD  A bit pricey but perfect addition for the Divergent fan!  I am sure it will be on normal release once the movie comes out.  Check out the movie Trailer

Spring 2014 Trends

Blogreaties,  it's the New Year and I have already stopped thinking of resolutions that i probably would have not worked on anyway.  But hey,  here is to atleast having positive thoughts that are slowly becoming cynical as each day passes.

Anywho,  new season, means new looks!  So i am going through pages and pages of websites and blogs to get a good general idea on what is actually wearable by the general public.

My forecast for Spring 2014 are bright and natural.  It maybe the popularity of HBO Game of Thrones or CW Reign but princess, ethereal back to nature seems to be the look to create.

HAIR
For hair,  I am seeing hair away from the face.  Hair is soft, slicked back against the face or in a ponytail, bun or braid.  For the long hair, waves are still in season.  For the short hair,  I found choppy, fringe bobs.

MAKEUP TRENDS

Thank goodness I didn't see anything too extreme in makeup looks.  For someone like me who is still learning I don't need to gravitate to youtube to watch how to videos.

Eyeshadow - Simple application with a single bright color is what I see.  Blue, green, bright pink and pastels are the colors of spring for the season.  Yes I count Sephora/Pantone Universe color of the year "Radiant Orchid" as bright pink or magenta.

Lips - The color scheme is berry, nude and for some reason ORANGE. I am comfortable with the berry and nude but orange?  It was already hard enough to find a red shade that flatters me.  I assume that I have to find the right orange.  Sheesh! For the look you see I actually went a little McGyver and mixed my yellow and red eyeshadow, applied it on my lips and applied lip gloss to set.  Just an idea if you want to experiment without buying.

Skin - Flawless, Dewy and Bright.  Blush is subtle to make it look glowy and flushed. Man I need to get a handle of my skin for this.  Good luck on this part blogreaties.  My current favorites to achieve this look is Urban Decay Naked Skin (High End) and L'Oreal Lumi Foundation ( Drugstore)

Liner  (See Example below)- Cat eye Liner is still big (Thank gawd,  I haven't perfected that yet) Inky liner is a thing for the Spring.  Use a kohl liner and line top and bottom, then smudge it,  yes it looks like you slept with liner still on!  (thats the look)  Finally drawn line shaped eyeliner it's cleopatra being more creative.

So I put everything together and created these looks.  i wish you luck and send me your looks on instagram @angelpacific #Spring2014Trends  #Spring2014eyes

Sephora No Longer carrys LORAC

A sad thing to hear on the grapevine, when makeup is either discontinued or no longer offered.   I love any gossip like anyone, but this one is true, Sephora will no longer carry the LORAC brand.  The past few years I was only able to find Lorac at the JC Penny Sephora stores and even that offered very little.  Lorac joins other high end brands  like TheBalm and Cargo that were also cut from the Sephora lineup in previous years.

So I freaked out!  In my perfect palette tag on a previous post,  I bragged that Lorac was the winner in having the most palettes from the line.  Lorac eyshadows are soft and very pigmented.  I have never regretted any of my purchases having at least five palettes from the line.

yet I bring good news my blogreaties,  Lorac along with the other disgarded brands mentioned will now be sold at KOHLS.  Kohls,  is an american department store that pop up in California in the late ninties, early 2000's.  I have always looked at their beauty counter (tiny section!) but never made any purchases. I don't see anything at the stores by my home, yet.  I am hoping that they will renovate and improve their Beauty space.

Though it may not be in the physical stores I am glad that they offer it online. http://www.kohls.com.  The prices are not the discount ones you may find on some websites like Hautelook,  but for me I feel more at peace knowing that it is offered somewhere.

I will go check with Sephora to what brand will replace Lorac.  Also I might investigate further on what other brands might be on the chopping block.  You might still see Lorac products at your local sephora but marked down to clearance.  So I recommend to scoop up as much as possible especially at the discount price while you still can.  Once Sephora is out of stock they are out!  Check it out!

Sephora VIB Rouge

Okay so Sephora has yet another membership tier to warp our minds to spend more.  Yea they got me.  In my last Sephora online purchase I was asked If I would like to join.  I didn't know what it was I qualified, it was free, what the hey.  As long as it wasn't a credit card I assume I would be fine.  (Oh my give me strength that I don't sign up for the sephora credit card.)

According to Sephora (Sephora.com/rouge) VIB Rouge launched on July 23, 2013. If you spent $1,000 in 2013 by July 23, 2013, you qualified for VIB Rouge status.  Yikes did I really spend $1,000 dollars at Sephora.  Whoa I think I found my New Years Resolution.

I got a lovely black box amoungst my order.  It welcomed my to VIB Rouge and stated the benfits of this membership:

  • • Free Shipping on all orders
  • • Unlimited access to the Beauty Studio
  • • Exclusive invitations to Rouge-Only Events
  • • Special seasonal surprise gifts
  • • Access to a Rouge Concierge

It also came with a tiny tube of Bite Beauty lipstick in a color exclusively made for VIB Rouge,  (Really?)  So as you can see from the picture it's a very warm red color I am thinking borderline orange.  Its a statin finish, smells and tastes sweet which I have noticed is a staple for Bite lipsticks.  It's okay,  If I way this color every I will run out of this stuff.  The tube is that small.

So if you are a VIB Rouge, Congratulations! For those who are just VIB's,  I recommend to stay.  You can get a better size sample of lipstick with your point perks. It's really the same thing,  yes it's free shipping but it's really only beneficial for homebodied online shoppers, like me.  I won't go to these exclusive events, crowds are scary! My opinion,  it's not worth it.  The VIB Rouge benefits need to be far better than the regular VIB.   Here are my suggestions.
  • Deluxe size samples with every order.
  • Full Size product point perks
  • Send us special codes for access to buy new products before anyone else
  • Discounts!  crazy Crazy CrAzY discounts!
  • VIB Sales and gift cards should be slightly better for Rouge members. (maybe add 10.  Make it a 30 dollar gift card instead 20 OR make it a 30% discount instead of 20%)

Sephora Haul

It’s here! It’s here!  Previously I mentioned two things the 20 dollar gift card from Sephora and the search for the Naked 3 Palette.  Well I killed two birds with one stone as the saying goes and I used the gift card on the Naked 3 Palette!  Finally it’s here.  Of course I can never get just one product from Sephora.  This is a haul.
Besides the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette,  I picked up the Jack Black "It's the Balm" Lip balm quad and the Bite Beauty "The Lip Kit.  I will tell you all about it.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette - Okay i know us makeup junkies have already seen all the swatches and video reviews from all of our makeup gurus on this product.  So yes I did give in and bought the palette,  yes I am weak.  But I have to admit I really do like it.  I would say the reviews were right,  if you like rosy gold combination eye looks you will love this.  I am, so i do.  I thought that this would have a rose matte color for blending but it doesn't.  But I will just end with that I have it and I will probably  look into repurchasing the orignal Naked Palette.  Only due to my slight OCD in me that I would prefer to have a complete set.  People don't give away your stuff without talking it over first.

Bite Beauty "The Lip Kit"  (38.00 USD)- I love Bite Beauty lipsticks.  I first fell in love with Bite at Sephora's little small last minute travel section near the cash register.  i bought their single dual color stick.  Loved it.  So i picked up "The Lip Kit"  that has various shades for every lip color taste.  I liked it beause their shades are wearable for someone liek me who like nuetral subtle shades.  For the 38 dollar price tag you would asssume that a bit pricey.  But think about it 38 bucks for eight lip sticks, thats 4.75 a color.  That is cheaper then most drugstore lipsticks.  I don't even count the finish as matte either but not glossy either.  These are so hydrating and these made my lips so soft even after wiping off the colors eight times in a row to take these pics.

Row1Left to Right (Rose, Palomino) Row2 (Mulberry, Retsina)Row3 (Pomegranate, Musk) Row4 (Pepper, Apricot)

Jack Black "its the Balm" Lip Quad -  Can you belive this is actually the second time and second edition of this line?  I love this stuff.  I originally picked this up for my husband bacause he had real bad cracked lips.  It was so bad that sometimes it would bleed, eww.  So i picked up the fist exclusive from Sephora last year fell in love with the flavors and blends that I had to pick up the second edition.  I know what you are thinking, its a freakin lip balm, spending 7 bucks a tube is pointless, right?  So worth it people.  The blends or "flavors" are more appetizing and natural then the typical chapsticks and blams that one would usually use.  It's really hard to explain but its very different.
